At, Payson Academy of Excellence, we teach these scriptural truths, so our students know how to apply the Word of God to their everyday lives. It is important to know the Word of God and understand it. But the greatest gift we can give our students is giving them wisdom in how to live and how to carry the light of God in all that they do.
Your Identity in Christ:
You are uniquely created. God made you with intention (Psalm 139:14).
You are God’s masterpiece. He has pre-planned good things for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).
You are deeply loved. Nothing can ever separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39).
You are a child of God. You have been adopted into His eternal family (John 1:12).
You are fully forgiven. Your past mistakes are wiped completely clean (Colossians 1:13-14).
You are a new creation. Your old life is gone and the new has begun (2 Corinthians 5:17).
You are chosen. God selected you before the world was even made (Ephesians 1:4).
You are a citizen of heaven. This temporary world is not your final home (Philippians 3:20).
You are Christ’s ambassador. You represent Him to the people around you (2 Corinthians 5:20).
You are the salt of the earth. Your presence preserves and brings flavor to life (Matthew 5:13).
You are the light of the world. Your life should shine to guide others (Matthew 5:14).
You are a temple of the Holy Spirit. God's Spirit lives inside of you (1 Corinthians 6:19).
You are highly valued. Christ gave His very life to redeem you (Galatians 2:20).
You are never truly alone. God promises to stay with you always (Hebrews 13:5).
Finding Peace & Overcoming Worry:
God provides perfect peace. Keep your thoughts focused entirely on Him (Isaiah 26:3).
Worry changes absolutely nothing. Focus your energy on today, not tomorrow (Matthew 6:27).
Pray instead of panicking. Tell God what you need with a thankful heart (Philippians 4:6).
God's peace transcends understanding. It guards both your heart and mind (Philippians 4:7).
Cast your anxieties on God. He cares deeply about every single detail (1 Peter 5:7).
Sleep without fear. God protects you even while you rest (Psalm 4:8).
The Lord is your shepherd. You have everything you truly need (Psalm 23:1).
Do not let your heart be troubled. Trust completely in Jesus (John 14:1).
God gives you rest. Bring your heavy burdens straight to Him (Matthew 11:28).
The Holy Spirit gives you peace. It is a lasting gift that the world cannot give (John 14:27).
Strength, Courage & Deliverance
God is your refuge. He acts as a constant stronghold in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid of your circumstances (Joshua 1:9).
The Lord is your strength. He gives you the power to stand firm (Exodus 15:2).
God empowers the weak. He increases the strength of the powerless (Isaiah 40:29).
You can endure all things. Christ gives you the strength you need (Philippians 4:13).
Do not fear what people can do. God is your ultimate helper (Hebrews 13:6).
God did not give you a Spirit of fear. He gave you power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Wait patiently on the Lord. He will renew and build up your strength (Isaiah 40:31).
God holds your right hand. He whispers comfort to quiet your fears (Isaiah 41:13).
The Lord fights for you. You only need to remain still (Exodus 14:14).
Trusting God's Direction & Wisdom
Trust God wholeheartedly. Do not rely purely on your own insights (Proverbs 3:5).
Acknowledge God in everything. He will make your path straight (Proverbs 3:6).
God has good plans for you. His plans offer hope and a bright future (Jeremiah 29:11).
God works everything for good. He uses events to benefit those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Ask God for wisdom. He gives it generously without finding fault (James 1:5).
God's Word guides your steps. It is a protective lamp for your path (Psalm 119:105).
God establishes your steps. Committing your actions to Him brings success (Proverbs 16:3).
Human understanding is limited. God's ways are vastly higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9).
God directs your daily steps. The Lord guides the path of the righteous (Psalm 37:23).
Seek God's kingdom first. Everything else will be given to you naturally (Matthew 6:33).
Love, Relationships & Forgiveness
Love your neighbor. Treat others exactly how you want to be treated (Mark 12:31).
Forgive as you were forgiven. Drop grudges just as Christ dropped yours (Ephesians 4:32).
Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, boast, or keep a record of wrongs (1 Corinthians 13:4-5).
Love your enemies. Pray honestly for the people who mistreat you (Matthew 5:44).
Live at peace with everyone. Do your absolute best to maintain harmony (Romans 12:18).
We love because God first loved us. His initial love fuels our compassion (1 John 4:19).
Encourage one another. Intentionally build up the people around you (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Hatred stirs up conflict. True love covers over all offenses (Proverbs 10:12).
Speak truth in love. Communicate with kindness and complete honesty (Ephesians 4:15).
Do not judge others harshly. Give the same mercy you want to receive (Matthew 7:1-2).
Be quick to listen. Be slow to speak and slow to become angry (James 1:19).
A gentle answer turns away wrath. Harsh words only stir up anger (Proverbs 15:1).
Speech, Integrity & Daily Conduct
Guard your heart. Everything you do flows directly from it (Proverbs 4:23).
Watch your words. Avoid corrupt talk; speak only what helps others (Ephesians 4:29).
Do everything without complaining. Avoid arguing in your daily tasks (Philippians 2:14).
Work for God, not men. Put your heart into everything you do (Colossians 3:23).
Live with integrity. Walk securely by choosing the honest path (Proverbs 10:9).
The tongue holds immense power. Words can bring either life or destruction (Proverbs 18:21).
Choose humility. God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
Do not get tired of doing good. You will reap a harvest if you don't quit (Galatians 6:9).
Lying tongues are detestable. The Lord delights in trustworthy people (Proverbs 12:22).
Flee from evil desires. Pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (2 Timothy 2:22).
Faith, Grace & Salvation
Salvation is a free gift. It comes by grace through faith, not works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Believing in Jesus brings life. Faith prevents spiritual destruction (John 3:16).
Confess Jesus as Lord. Believe in your heart to be saved (Romans 10:9).
Faith requires active action. Faith without actions is completely dead (James 2:17).
Faith can move mountains. Even tiny faith can accomplish the impossible (Matthew 17:20).
Walk by faith. Do not base your life purely on what you see (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Jesus is the only way. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
God’s grace is sufficient. His power works best in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Nothing can condemn you. You are entirely free in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
Draw near to God. He will instantly draw near to you (James 4:8).
Provision & Stewardship
God supplies your needs. He provides out of His glorious riches (Philippians 4:19).
The earth belongs to God. Everything in the world is His (Psalm 24:1).
Honor God with your wealth. Give Him the first portion of your income (Proverbs 3:9).
God loves a cheerful giver. Do not give out of guilt or obligation (2 Corinthians 9:7).
You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24).
True godliness brings contentment. Being content is a source of great wealth (1 Timothy 6:6).
Do not hoard earthly wealth. Store up eternal treasures in heaven instead (Matthew 6:19-20).
God provides food and clothing. He cares for you more than birds or flowers (Matthew 6:26).
The generous will prosper. Refreshing others brings refreshment to you (Proverbs 11:25).
Joy, Gratitude & Praise
Give thanks in all situations. This is God's specific will for you (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
God’s joy is your strength. His joy protects your heart (Nehemiah 8:10).
Praise God at all times. Keep His praise constantly on your lips (Psalm 34:1).
The Lord is always good. His faithful love endures forever (Psalm 100:5).
This day is a gift. Rejoice and choose to be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).
Joy comes in the morning. Sorrow and weeping are only temporary (Psalm 30:5).
A cheerful heart is good medicine. A broken spirit saps your energy (Proverbs 17:22).
Be joyful in hope. Stay patient in affliction and faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12).
Eternal Perspective & Endurance
Earthly troubles are temporary. They produce an eternal glory (2 Corinthians 4:17).
Fix your eyes on Jesus. He is the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2).
This world is passing away. The person who does God's will lives forever (1 John 2:17).
Run your race with endurance. Throw off everything that slows you down (Hebrews 12:1).
God will wipe away every tear. Death, pain, and crying will completely end (Revelation 21:4).
Your labor is not in vain. Nothing you do for God is ever wasted (1 Corinthians 15:58).
The testing of faith creates endurance. Endurance leads to maturity (James 1:3-4).
